Meet Stephanie
Hi, I’m Stephanie Pearl, founder and principal of Adaptive Roots Consulting.
As a consultant and certified coach, I partner with individuals and organizations to achieve their personal and professional goals.
Before launching Adaptive Roots Consulting in 2022, I spent more than 15 years in academic research and federal research administration, including serving as a 2015–2017 AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow. My career has spanned plant evolutionary genomics research (2005–2015) and roles in science communication, planning, accountability, and change management at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (2015–2022).
Upon relocating to Alabama in 2019, I realized I didn’t fit into a single professional box—so I built my own. Through Adaptive Roots Consulting, I:
Support food systems change and nonprofit development.
Help teams collaborate more effectively through workshop facilitation.
Advise new and aspiring business owners.
Provide one-on-one coaching to help individuals shape fulfilling careers.
My business highlights have included:
Serving as Interim Executive Director for the Alabama Sustainable Agriculture Network, leading strategic planning and executive recruitment.
Facilitating a cross-disciplinary workshop for the USDA Agricultural Research Service's Salmonella Grand Challenge.
Advising bioscience entrepreneurs in the Alabama Launchpad pitch competition.
Delivering nearly 100 hours of career and executive coaching to clients from organizations including Southern Research, the University of Calgary, USDA, and the University of Memphis.
I’m now based in Manhattan, Kansas, and work with clients nationwide.
Thanks for visiting—I’d love to explore how we can work together!
